The vast modern atrium of Kyoto JR station. For some kind of scale, look into the distance to see at least 10 escalators carrying customers to the dizzy heights. Those strip lights along the top are actually underneath a walkway which goes from one end of the atrium to the other. Fans of modern architecture should set aside an hour to browse round this place, especially after night-fall.
