This is Arunal Volcano, just a few hours bus ride NorthWest of San Jose. It erupts every couple of days, but played hard to get until our last night. Then an amazing chuffing noise announced the start of the show. As everyone drove away, we hired a cab straight to it! The lava may have only dribbled out, but I loved it! This is a one minute exposure. The next day we climbed two thirds of the 1633m peak, and it was still hot!
